About The Tree

1. When do you put up the Christmas tree? Normally, we put it up the first weekend of December, around Lisa's birthday. Alas, this year we had to forego the thing, what with the impending move and all.

2. Real or Fake? Our trusty 12 year old fake tree. It cost a lot of money back in 1990, but has withstood the test of time.

3. Lights? Multi-coloured mini lights. LOTS of them.

4. Garland? Have you ever tried to pull a strand of garland from a cat's ass?

5. Theme or No theme? You mean, besides Christmas?

6. What kind of topper? We have an angel, who sadly short-circuited the other year and now stands guard holding unlit white mini lights.

7. What's your favorite ornament? A black & white cat dangling from a fish bowl and hanging on for dear life.

8. What does your tree skirt look like? Crumpled up in a pile and shot across the floor in random directions, due to feline activity.

9. Where do you put your tree? In the living room.

10. Who decorates the tree? I put it together and fluff out the branches to get it as realistic looking as possible. I feed the lights to Lisa, who hangs them. We both hang the ornaments.

11. What's "under" the tree? Usually a sleeping cat.

12. Do you put candy canes on your tree? Yes, but strategically placed to avoid feline intervention.

About The Food

1. What's your favorite Christmas cookie? Shortbread! Yum!

2. Do you bake cookies and give them away? Lisa has for her grandfather in years past.

3. Any "special" foods or candy that you only have at Christmas time? After Eight mints. Glögg.

4. What do you eat on Christmas EVE? Finger foods at the various houses we may end up visiting.

5. What do you eat on Christmas Day? The traditional meal - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mashed squash, corn or mixed veggies, gravy, dinner rolls.

6. Do you like Eggnog? Spiked or Not Spiked? Yuckity poo-poo.

7. Do you like candy canes? So long as they are peppermint.

About The Decorations

1. Where do you hang your stockings? Over the shower curtain rod to dry, after they've gone through the wash.

2. Do you put lights on your house? No house, yet. Next year, highly unlikely.

3. Got any outside lawn decorations? Gack, no.

4. Do you put up a nativity? No; it's not our shtick.

5. Do you hang mistletoe under the door? We have a faux mistletoe somewhere that we used to hang there.

6. Got a wreath on your front door? Yeppers.

7. How long does it take you to decorate? This year, about 15 minutes.

About The Movies And Shows

1. Favorite Children's Xmas TV show/cartoon? A tie between How The Grinch Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

2. Wonderful Life / Miracle on 34th Street / A Christmas Carol...Which is the best? All three, for their own reasons. (A Christmas Carol = the 1951 Alastair Sim version, naturally.)

3. Favorite Christmas movie? See question #2 for three of them.

4. Have you ever seen the Nutcracker Suite Ballet live? No. No interest in doing so.

5. Ever been to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas show? N/A

6. Ever gone to the movies on Christmas Day? I prefer to spend Christmas Day with family.

7. Did you know it's the biggest day of the box-office year? Didn't know, and didn't care. :-)

1. Favorite Christmas book or story? I don't think I've ever read a Christmas book.

2. Do you stuff your stockings with any types of food? My Mom used to do oranges in our stockings when I was a kid.

12. Do you like/hate going to the "work" Christmas Party? Depends on the party.

13. Do you send Christmas cards (handmade or bought)? Never. I've never thought of them as being sincere.

14. Do you make a "list"? As part of strategic shopping plans.
