The
second round of the NHL playoffs concluded last night. Let's bring up the round
predictions and see how well your fearless forecaster fared...By the way, isn't
cut & paste a wonderful thing? Saves typing all the same words over again.
My predictions were: | Actual results
Western Conference:
Dallas Star (1) vs. St. Louis Blues (5)
- Dallas in 6 games | Dallas in 6 games
Colorado Avalanche (2) vs. Detroit Red Wings (3) - Detroit in 7 games | Colorado
in 6 games
Eastern Conference:
Toronto Maple Leafs (Go Leafs Go!) (4) vs.
Pittsburgh Penguins (8) - Toronto in 6 games | Toronto in 6 games - yay!!!
Boston Bruins (6) vs. Buffalo Sabres (7) - Buffalo in 7 games | Buffalo in
6 games
3 of 4, with 2 spot on. I must be doing better. No hockey now until the weeked, thanks to Fox and their Sunday only broadcast policy for hockey. I think they're just getting their last minute revenge for losing the contract to Disney's ABC. Regardless, here goes the Conference Final predictions:
Western Conference:
Dallas Stars (1) vs. Colorado Avalanche (2) - This is a tuffie, but I'm going to call it Colorado in 7 games.
Toronto Maple Leafs (4) vs. Buffalo Sabres
(7) - Gotta go with my team - Toronto in 7 games to make it to the finals for
the first time since 1967. Go Leafs Go!

says "No such thing as too busy to update..." Were that this was true.
I would love to flex my cranial muscle on a daily basis and spew forth words of
wisdom, nuggets of knowledge and numerous humourous anecdotes that I could impart
to my readers (likely only me.) After working with computers the whole day through,
one of the last things I want to do at night is plant myself in front of a 17"
cathode ray tube and slap keys. Instead, we sit in front of a 25" cathode
ray tube and slowly turn our minds to mush. Pass the remote, will ya?
One advantage of my playoff predictions
is that it's an easy out for the Open Pages semi-regular update rule. A veritable
no-brainer. Call me lazy if you like, but I prefer to think of it as effeciency.
