I'll apologize right now for the wiggy way my links are (or more accurately aren't) working. I'm still a novice with this Dreamweaver 1.2 program. I thought I had it worked out for the linked site to open in a new window, but it appears to be opening in both a new window and my frames. Grrr...
Started reading the latest book by Charles de Lint last night, entitled Forests Of The Heart. I was rather tired after my adventures in the wyldes yesterday and thought I'd read for a little bit then turn in. I grabbed a glass of a new (to me) red wine from Australia, propped my self up on the bed and started reading around 8:00 , figuring to read for a half hour or so. Lisa was out in the living room, watching Con Air. I was joined at various times by a myriad of cats, of whom Sam spent most of the time curled up beside me while I turned the pages. You know you're hooked by a good read when you lose all track of time. Before I knew it, the time was 10:30, the movie was over and Sam and I had to share the bed with Lisa. I'm a quarter of the way through it already! Thing is, too, that I could have easily read until 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning and not realized it. If you're already a fan of his work, run out and grab it! If you've never read his work, I'd suggest your introduction should be Moonheart.
Soundtrack to the day so far is my latest jazz cd purchase, Bud Powell: The Complete 1946-1949 Roost/Blue Note/Verve/Swing Masters. He's fast becoming my favourite jazz pianist. I've collected 3 cds of his music thus far and am always on the lookout for more at my local record shops.
Hmm, wonder why we still call them record shops when they don't sell vinyl anymore? Though, that's not totally true; the downtown HMV here in Toronto had a display of new releases on vinyl right at the front of the store. I was duly impressed.
Bleagh; no rest for the wicked. Seems our tape backup drive here at work has gone west, so now I have to scramble to find a temporary alternate solution, lest our users suddenly fall into a panic.
I'll be on holidays all next week, so unless I write one tomorrow, this is the last entry for a little while. Of course, you're likely quite used to that phenomenon already around here. Ta ta for now.
