November 6, 2001

It's a beautiful autumn day. I went out at lunch to run a quick errand (roll of quarters for laundry; fresh litter for the cruds) and didn't want to return to work. Bright and sunny, the temperature was just right. Perfect for traipsing through fallen leaves and inhaling the scent of Fall. Just loverly.

So where am I? Stuck down in my dungeon of an office. I'd give my right arm to have a workspace with a window to the outside world. (That wouldn't be as great a loss as you might think, my being a southpaw and all.) My zeal for work is at low tide, at least for the remainder of the day. I'd rather be back outside, enjoying the last few hours of daylight and autumnal bliss. Sigh.

Finnegan is doing amazingly great, stupendously fab, kicking cancer's ass. As the side effects of his radiation therapy fade away, he returns more and more to the Essence Du Chat that is his personality. Full of piss 'n vinegar, he is. His fur and whiskers are growing back on his face. It looks like they're going to be white, though it is difficult to tell with his skin being grey. That's alright; he's still quite the handsome schmoo.

Mom and her hubby Steve are visiting this coming weekend. We're going to drive out to Brooklin, Ontario to show them the model home of the house that we've bought. Oh, by the way, we've bought a house! There's just a field right now where it will eventually stand, but when it is finished, it will be a beautiful 3 bedroom brick home on a corner lot at the top of a crescent. Scheduled possession date is November 1st, 2002, so we have to bear with our current overcrowded, loud neighbours above, bloodsucking landlord 2 bedroom apartment for a while. Still, we bought a house! Yay us! If you want a sneak peek, go here.

More later; this is just a quick entry to start getting back into the swing of writing on a more regular basis. Ta for now.
