This month's Random Acts Of Journaling had a Poetics prompt. I'm not officially a part of the project, but I did write a poem for it.

The beacon tower lights her way
As storm clouds gather and slowly creep
Against the rocky shore she crashes
The wreck of her soul crying for sleep
Upon the weathered stairs she climbs
The path she chooses seems always steep
Shelter beckons from inside the cot
A chance to sit, to rest, to weep
A sanctuary that within
Holds all of silence in its keep.
