When playing jazz to set the mind in the right mood for writing, it might not be best for the mp3 player to start off with Sing, Sing Sing. Now, instead of focusing on writing, I find my feet tapping out a boogie and my mind thinking of watching national figure skating championships, seeing all the young skaters struggle across the ice trying desparately and vainly to keep up with the frenetic pace of the music.

Ahh, that's better. Frank Sinatra - Love Me Or Leave Me. Back to the task at hand.

Under the starlight, just you and me
A tropical getaway down by the sea
Slip through the palm leaves, then we embrace
Moonlight bathes magic on your beautiful face

Caressed by the spice winds we lie on the beach
An evening of passion is just within reach
Secluded in privacy by bamboo trees
Our dance together is what the night sees

I awake tingling still from the memory
The dream fades and you slip from me
The music we made still hangs in the air
As I replay the notes that are no longer there

Your face I recall in my mind's eye
I swear I hear you whisper "Don't cry."
Tears brushed away by a light breeze
My dance alone now is what the night sees.
