The Worst

Standing in the rain, at the bus shelter
Watching the people go by
Some they work, some are unemployed
And some don't even try
Some smile, and some frown
Some only worry when the walls come down
Me, I'm different from the rest
I stick with the worst, and forget about the best.

I knew a girl once, who was prettier than hell
She told me secrets she could never tell (anyone else)
The way she felt, down deep inside
Just made her want to run and hide
I tried to help her, along the way
Get her through her life, day by day
I told her I loved her, that was my mistake
She could only give, she could never take.

She killed herself, some years ago
The real reason, I'm the only one to know
It was one of those secrets she could never tell
Since I know, I'll probably burn in hell
I told her I loved her, that was my mistake
She could only give, she could never take.

Standing in the rain, at the bus shelter
Watching the people go by
Me, well, I'm different from the rest
I stick with the worst,
To hell with the best.

She and I were the worst.
